1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Papalily API ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Papalily provides an AI-powered web data extraction API. The Service renders web pages using a real browser and extracts structured data using artificial intelligence based on user-supplied prompts.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. Permitted uses include:

• Extracting publicly available information for research, analysis, or application development
• Price monitoring, market research, and competitive intelligence on public data
• Aggregating publicly accessible content for legitimate business purposes

4. Prohibited Use

You may NOT use the Service to:

• Scrape websites that explicitly prohibit it in their robots.txt or Terms of Service where such prohibition is legally enforceable
• Extract personally identifiable information (PII) without consent
• Harvest email addresses, phone numbers, or personal data for spam or unsolicited contact
• Conduct denial-of-service attacks or overload target websites
• Circumvent authentication, paywalls, or access controls on third-party services
• Extract or reproduce copyrighted content for redistribution without authorisation
• Violate any applicable law, including data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

5. API Keys & Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key. Do not share your API key or embed it in publicly accessible client-side code. You are liable for all activity conducted under your API key. Notify us immediately at oc@42dep.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

6. Rate Limits & Quotas

Each plan has associated rate limits and monthly request quotas. Exceeding your plan quota will result in requests being rejected with HTTP 429. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that abuse the Service.

7. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that extraction results will be complete or accurate. AI extraction results may vary depending on the target website and prompt quality.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Papalily and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or legal claims arising from your scraping activities.

9. Your Responsibility for Target Sites

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with the terms of service of any website you scrape. Papalily is a technical tool — we do not review, approve, or take responsibility for the legality of your specific scraping activities.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your API access at our sole discretion, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Check this page periodically for updates.
